Charla colaw and her family
Charla`s Robert Wood Gallery
Texas Blue Bonnets - Robert Wood  Welcome to Charla`s Gallery Dedicated to the most reproduced
Master of Landscapes and Seascapes.

Born on the Kentish coast of England, and was the son of the
famous English painter W.J Wood.

Making his way to the USA as a youth, Robert had for over
seventy five years traveled throughout North America
painting the splendor of his adopted land.

Happy to be an American Robert would hop freight cars
often riding atop the huge machines with sketch pad
in hand to record the varied and ever changing countryside.

He would stop where ever the trains stopped whether the destination
was a large city or rustic village, the artist would
"set up camp" with his meager provisions, dash off
miniature sketches and drawings which he sold for
only pocket change,or he would earn a small day`s pay
by painting signs or helping in whatever odd jobs
he could find.

The prints at the gallery can be ordered please e-mail me for prices!
They are afforable and are simply wonderful!

Colaw Children
And a woman who held a babe against her bosom said:
Speak to us of children.
And he said:
Your children are not your children.
They are the sons and daughters of life`s longing for itself.

They come through you but not from you,and though they
are with you they belong not to you.
You may give them your love but not your thoughts.
For they have their own thoughts.

You may house their bodies but not their souls,
for their souls dwell in the house of tomorrow which
you cannot visit even in your dreams.

You may strive to be like them,
but seek not to make like you.
For life goes not backward nor tarries with yesterday.
You are the bows from which your children
as living arrows are sent forth.
